Carol Hearty, an independent handbag designer was at the Plaza Art Fair this past summer, and I'd picked up an advertising postcard from her, but thought I lost it. Well, I found it, being used as a bookmarker in thesaurus, so I went to her website, and was reminded of why I took one of her cards. Her work is so whimsical, colorful, and just plain nifty. Real talent, creativity, and craftswomanship. Seriously, y'all have you ever seen a backpack like this? And her Amoeba bags are the coolest. I think it looks a lot like a conch shell (the ones you can “hear the ocean” in).
