I think this pattern’s pretty badass.

I’m going to make it up in yellow cotton with an orange daisy print and orange topstitch detailing on the yoke and inset, but what I REALLY want to do is make it up in red, with black for the inset and yoke, and be all

Cardin-meets-Starfleet. Geek Chic, baby.

OMG yes. This almost makes me want to sew again. I would do it in purple and gray for a Deanna Troi sort of look.

PS, hi, I’m Emily, we met briefly at Kanza in 2010 and I’ve been lurking your blog ever since. 🙂

Blog lurking is mutual apparently! 😉 I have enjoyed following your adventures vicariously, as well. I remember you well. Cows lurked over your shoulder while you fixed a flat and gave you a bit of the wiggins.

I’m pretty excited about this project. I am going to brave the heat and ride out ot JoAnn’s next weekend and get a zipper – surprisingly enough I don’t have a yellow, 22″ zipper in amongst the boxes and bags of craft crap in my sewing room.

every once in a while I find Nana’s old patterns in my house & think of you.

As it turned out, I didn’t have enough of the yellow floral to make this up, but I will probably get some cheapie calico at the fabric shop pretty soon that will make up well.

And I may also run up a two-tone Trekkish getup and a matching pillbox and go as a 1960s-era stewardess for Halloween.
