fly (best viewed large)

fly (best viewed large), originally uploaded by Meetzorp.

Despite the fact that flies are kind of nasty and a real nuisance when you are trying to have a picnic, they’re awfully cool-looking little critters…especially the greenbottles and bluebottles.

I am completely knocked out by what good pictures I can sometimes take with my camera. The G9 was worth every penny I paid for it.

    Thank you!

I love when macro shots turn out this well…it’s like seeing a biology textbook come to life. Sure enough, flies have little hairs on their bodies! I was so stoked when I got this picture up on my computer and could see all of the detail.

Jagosaurus I’m hoping to get a macro of a bluebottle fly now. I got one of a regular black housefly but it didn’t turn out quite as well…I think that metallic color really helps make the details of the fly’s body really stand out.
